Random stuff

Classes are over; finals are yet to come. I'm not having any actual tests, but I do have about 87 pages in papers to write between now and Friday. It's been a long semester, and I'll be glad when it's over. Not that it hasn't been good, too.

I have a new job. I'm going to be condensing a Ph.D dissertation down into journal article form. Not extremely exciting, but good experience, a chance to get author credit in a publication, and a nice increase in pay from what I've been getting at FARMS. I'll miss FARMS-- they were nice over there. But this was too good to pass up. I've also applied for a TA position in an English Romantic lit class that I *should* get. I'm crossing my fingers, though, and not getting my hopes up.

I've sent out most of my holiday cards, and I've been receiving some too! Thanks to perceval (beautiful baby!), divinemum (beautiful children!), edeainfj (beautiful drabble!) and connielane (thanks for the CD! I don't have it yet. :) ) and poconell (great to hear from you!). I love getting real mail.

We bought our Christmas tree today. It just isn't Christmas until your house smells like pinion pine. :)

I made a big version of my icon *points* for my dad to hang up on his office door. No one at his work seems to get it. When they finally ask him and he explains it, they all roll their eyes. Dad is notorious, I guess.

I called into the live Pottercast today. Rambled about H/G. :P It was great to talk to melissa_tlc again, even if it was only for a few minutes. Can't wait for July so I can see her (and lots of you!) at Lumos. I'm afraid I plugged my latest H/G ficlet, but it was entirely accidental. Really. Melissa's the one who brought up my ship debate history, though. And I didn't even pay her. *slips money under table*
