wahlee: (I Will Not Allow Books to Prove Anything)
Hey all,

I'm still working on getting my Shakefest/Lumos trip all written up, but in the meantime, I wanted to do this.

As you may have noticed by now, [livejournal.com profile] angua9 and I are now working at The Leaky Cauldron as co-Coordinators of Scribbulus, TLC's essay project. We've both been working on it for a little over a month now, but we didn't say anything about it because it hadn't been officially announced on Leaky's site. And then when it was, it happened right before Lumos, and we didn't have time to say anything about it. :P

In any case, we're both waaay excited about the whole thing, as there are few things either of us like more than HP essays. We are, however, a bit concerned. You see, for previous issues, the deadline for submission was a mere week before publication, and that was simply not enough time to get the editing and formatting done. So we moved up the deadline to allow a full month between submission and publication. In an effort to allow make the change more gradual, the submission deadline for the September issue was only moved up one week, to August 16. But [livejournal.com profile] angua9 and I are both concerned that we might not recieve enough submissions by the deadline to fill our entire issue.

This is where you come in.

I know for absolute certain that you all are excellent essayists. I've seen full-blown essays, extended LJ posts that could be considered essays, and even small posts that could easily be expanded to essays.

So think about submitting something, would ya? The official call this month is essays on Divination, but we'll accept well-written essays on any topic. I'm working on getting my Lumos presentation ready for the next issue, and [livejournal.com profile] angua9 is considering whipping something up. . .

And we'd love to have your input, too. :)
